Ferries and Village Roads

Puumala is a municipality in an archipelago of the lake Saimaa with approximately 3,000 km of shoreline and nearly one thousand islands.

There are three active car ferries in Puumala, located at Hätinvirta, Kietävälänvirta and Rongonsalmi. These ferries are public and free to use, when exploring the countryside roads and archipelago villages.

The Puumala Archipelago Route takes you through the southern part of the archipelago, and cyclists can also enjoy the ferries. The route crosses five bridges and runs along the shore of Saimaa for numerous kilometres. Check it out!
